At a time like this, where everything is uncertain, it’s important to stick to a routine. A routine grounds you and you feel calmer.
Honestly, this year has been like a roller coaster and I’m sure you feel the same. Getting your ducks in a row brings a feeling of accomplishment and that you have at least some sort of control of your life.
So let’s talk about getting organised. It’s a process and I think doing this on a Sunday while listening to some jams is the best kind of day!
I don’t know about you but being organised makes me feel less anxious, even if I don’t exactly follow my routine, I know I’ll always have it there.
So let’s get started!
Getting into the zone:
For me, getting in the mood to do something is key. And often, that’s through music. Having that ‘I can do it’ energy is vital. So put on your favourite jams and have a boogie.
If you’re not sure what will get you hyped, check out my Apple Music @taliayiacoumis. I know, I know, I should get Spotify, I promise, I’m thinking about it! The playlists I would recommend are Bad Bitch Energy and Sunday Vibes. They’re very different lol but I promise they’re bangers.
So now that the music is sorted, decluttering your space is important too! Having a clean space makes your mind feel less busy. Remember that your surroundings impact you subconsciously and could stress you out without realising. Even if you clear the space and neaten everything up, it’s better than nothing!
Making a routine:

Now I understand that we don’t know what’s going to happen next week, considering the circumstances, but let’s focus on what we do weekly!
Put what you generally do every week in the planner. Working hours, uni hours, gym days, when you wake up, etc. What do you do daily in a week, and what would you like to do so you can incorporate it into your routine.
This doesn’t apply just to our routines. This can apply to working towards lessening your anxiety and stress. As well as eating plans! While I’ve organised my week, I know I should focus on combatting my anxiety.
Writing down how you feel is cathartic. Bottling up emotions is damaging. I know a lot of people are using gratitude journals and I think it’s a great idea! If you don’t want to talk to someone about your feelings, writing them down is just as useful. Remember that you aren’t a burden and your feelings are valid.
So let’s get onto organising!
I used Excel and made a small table and created a weekly routine using that. But if you wanna be a bit more boujee, you can always buy a beautiful planner like CGD London’s planners. They are drop-dead gorgeous. Otherwise, Typo is also lovely and affordable. I’ll put links at the end. If you have any recommendations for more affordable organisers lemme know!
Add what you do daily and what you’d like to incorporate! You can make a weekly plan and then make a meal plan separately and have them link up together! Remember to add anything you’d like. Adding small reminders of self-care and quotes, as well as colours! Obviously our weekly plan won’t always add up with our daily, so everyday write a to-do list of what you need to do that isn’t on your planner.
Sticking to your routine:
I know it’s difficult committing in the beginning because same. I had a tough week and struggled to stick to my plan and I got overwhelmed. It’s okay to have a bad day, week, month, or year. I had a bad week and I accept that, but I’m determined to stay on top of everything for next week and make the most of it! Your attitude is what makes it work. If you need a break, take one. Don’t feel too pressured to do something when you can’t. Everyone has been in your shoes, especially this year.
I’ve struggled with motivation and concentration a lot lately. As well as discipline. And that’s okay, because I know I’ll overcome it sooner or later and I can only do my best, and so should you!
Thanks for reading beauties! See you next Friday!
