Not gonna lie, I don’t know how I made it through the year without my series. I love series, it takes my mind off everything and I feel far more relaxed because of it. I generally prefer to have short 20 minute episodes for during study breaks, to get my mind off things, but the longer 40 min+ are amazing when you’ve got the time.
Seeing as it’s almost the end of the year and many students have finished work (unfortunately not me yet), you’ve got time to watch all the shows you said you didn’t have time for! Now if you’ve forgotten, that’s okay, because I gotchu, I have watched a lot of series coming from all different genres. I’m not going to list everything I’ve watched because this blog post would be endless but I’ll list what I watched this year for the first time only!
1. The Queen’s Gambit

This is beautiful. I loved this limited series, it kept me hooked the whole time. If you haven’t watched it, watch it. Anya Taylor Joy lures you in with eyes that stare deep into your soul. The cinematography is brilliant and you can’t get enough. If you’ve watched this show, good on you, but if you haven’t, go on Netflix to watch the trailer ASAP! I know everyone’s been watching this, and they’re right, everyone has to watch this! I did watch quite successful shows this year so many of you will probs have seen it but that’s okay.
2. Sex and the City

Ah, what a banger. An oldie but a goodie fr fr. This show makes me laugh and smile like you can’t believe. Also, the fashion???!!! Even if you just watch this for the outfit inspo it’s okay, I’ll accept that. I really enjoyed this and I wish they would make a newer and better version, unlike Emily In Paris (a disaster), even if they did a version in London! So we could get that kinda vibe! Should we make a petition? A must watch in my opinion, I loved every second!
3. Hunter X Hunter

Now I know this is a weird one, it’s the first proper anime I’ve watched but I actually loved it. I know most people won’t watch anime because it’s animated but why would they make a live-action version of it if the special effects are going to be terrible? This is giving me flashbacks to the Avatar the Last Airbender live-action which ruined everything. This show has themes of friendship, trust, progression and overcoming difficulties. Yes, it does include how the characters have abilities but if you’re into that, try it out! I cried during this show, it is actually really beautiful and I’d highly recommend it. It’s not on Netlfix but you can watch it on animeflix or animepahe.
4. Money Heist

This. It hit me hard. I’m letting you know now that if you haven’t watched it, it’s in Spanish and I would recommend the subs instead of the dub, dubbing is the worst. This series has become internationally known so if you haven’t watched it, that’s disappointing. We don’t often see successful series from other countries besides England and America so it’s wonderful to see the talent that other countries have! I loved how the plot had so much depth and how it paid so much attention to detail. Every time we thought something specific was going to happen, something entirely different occurred. Try it out!
5. Modern Family

Modern Family is that show that everyone has watched at least one episode of but haven’t watched the whole thing. I watched this during my study breaks and I really enjoyed it actually. It was light-hearted and entertaining and if you want to watch something to pass the time, I’d watch this.
If you want some other series to watch that I love with my whole heart and are my absolute favourites, The Nanny, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Avatar: the Last Airbender (the series!!!), The Legend of Korra, and Big Mouth are all brilliant.
I hope you enjoyed this and let me know your thoughts if you’ve watched any of these! I love discussing films and series!
That’s all for today my beauties, see you next week!
