In the 21st Century, spirituality has become extremely popular. The rise of yoga and meditation over the years shows how people are trying to connect with themselves.
I’ve always been interested in astrology and as a Pisces, I’m quite a spiritual person and I connect with others easily. Ever since my mom started studying astrology it’s grabbed my attention. I know a lot of people think it’s all mumbo-jumbo but it can actually be clarifying and give you guidance. We don’t realise how everything is connected and we are a part of the universe. We forget that we are more than mind and body, we are also part soul.
So sometimes working on your soul can help clarify what you don’t see.
There are many ways to start becoming more in touch with yourself and your being but one of my favourite ways is to do a tarot card reading. My mom introduced me to tarot and I’ve been hooked ever since. Each card holds so much energy and meaning, it’s honestly very beautiful.
My mom actually bought me my first deck, the basic and original, Rider Waite tarot deck. It’s available everywhere and I think I’d like to collect decks in the future and purchase unique ones on my travels. Tarot decks are also so beautiful to look at and I’m mesmerised by the art. @cocorrina on Instagram has the most stunning deck I’ve ever seen and it makes me feel so connected to myself.
I’ve been wanting to become more in touch with myself and become the best version of me and I feel that everyone should try do that.
Doing a tarot card reading gives me clarity when I need it most and puts me at ease. I think everyone should try it at least once and see if they feel it’s for you or not.
It’s also becoming more aware of your surroundings. You must notice the full moon and the new moon. The full moon represents a completion and the new moon represents a new beginning. When there is a new moon, set your intentions by lighting a white candle and projecting your intentions into the universe.

Try yoga and meditation, your body carries so much energy and you must look after it and give it love. Give your mind and body time to unwind and relax. You can learn a lot when silent and patient. I’ve started to listen to a Podcast in the morning to focus my thoughts and to breathe properly. I need to start stretching as well, I’ve actually injured my lower back and stretching the muscle will be the best thing for it.
I think implementing small practices into your day can make the biggest difference. Making a routine is key. I understand that it’s difficult to incorporate all these practices when you feel like you don’t have enough time with university or your job, but whenever you have the time, it’s worth trying.
Become more creative. Being stuck at home and watching Netflix all day isn’t good for you. Paint, draw, sew, play an instrument. Even if you listen to music and dance around your room, it’s better than nothing. We need to keep our mind’s energy flowing and keep creative, it’ll boost your happy hormone!
Try get in touch with yourself, it is almost the end of the year, it’s time to focus on yourself. It’s okay to be selfish sometimes. See what you can learn about yourself and what you can learn about those around you. Connect.
