Let’s talk about 2021

Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2021 lol, December flew by in what feels like a week. I honestly started to feel really good a few days before the 31st. I felt ready to take on a new chapter of my life and start anew. This last year has gone awry for everyone and I think you can agree. Plans were ruined, loved ones were lost, lives were turned upsidedown. But I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I feel ready for anything and that I must accept what’s to come. I know the first few months of 2021 will feel similar to 2020 but I hope that there’s a change in our outlook, a more positive outlook.

What do you want this year? Work on your mental health? Get a job? Be more positive? Whatever it is, do it! I’m feeling pumped and I want to start new habits and work on myself. I know sticking to your goals is hard but once you start it’s a lot easier! The first thing you should do is write down your goals. There’s a difference between saying you’ll do something and writing it down so you have a commitment. I’ve written down all my goals and I’m ready to commit to them!

I always have my head in the clouds so sometimes my goals are a bit far-fetched but that’s okay! Write down what you want, no matter how big or how small. You may think you don’t know what you want, but you do, it’s just about thinking of them.

I think that this year we should reflect on last year, I know everyone is rushing to forget last year, but what did it actually teach you? You’re a year older. Did you spend more time with your family? Did you realise you enjoy being independent? Did you start a new hobby? Did you make better connections with those around you? We live such a fast paced existence that when we slow down we don’t know how to react.

I actually got back into reading last year and I never realised how much I missed it. I spent more time with my dad and our bond got stronger! I watched some incredible films. I made new friends. I baked a lot (which I’m sure you did too lol). I did some good things last year that I probably wouldn’t have done. Did you?

So let’s think about what we want this year and practice gratitude. It will get better eventually. I’ll start off with more upbeat beauty posts next week! Look after yourself, mentally and physically!

Lots of love my beauties, see you next week!
